Thanks to a decision by the Hungarian Geotechnical Society, our design engineer colleague, Kristóf Kelemen, had the opportunity to participate in the official European conference for young geotechnical engineers.
The 28th European Young Geotechnical Engineers Conference (EYGEC), organized by the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, was held this year in Demir Kapija, North Macedonia. Each country could delegate a maximum of two young geotechnical engineers, selected by their national professional organizations.
At the conference, Kristóf presented the experience gained from an HBM deep excavation support project completed in 2021, along with the results of his subsequent research carried out as part of his MSc thesis. His presentation focused primarily on the application of 3D geotechnical finite element modelling and the advantages of BIM-based design in deep construction projects.
Congratulations to Kristóf!
