Deep Soil Mixing (DSM) technology
Application:
- retaining structure of shallow, 3-4m deep excavations
- deep foundation of low‑load structures by improving the local soils
- post-construction foundation strengthening, even through existing floors without demolition
The deep soil mixing, (DSM) technology involves a mixing tool that penetrates into the soil while continuously rotating, breaking up its structure. During the slow withdrawal of the mixing tool, cement grout is injected into the soil at low pressure to achieve the homogenous cement soil body with the required strength. After the binder has hardened, a soil‑cement column with improved mechanical properties is formed. Compared to jet grouting, the technology has the advantage of significantly lower cement consumption and considerably lower waste generation.
