The special civil engineering works of Metrodom GREEN Phase II residential buildings were designed and executed by HBM. In the 9th district of Budapest, in a working pit of about 4 m deep, bounded by a soldier pile wall and a jet-grouting foundation, we prepared nearly 400 pieces of CFA piles for the foundation of a 12-storey-high building.

During the design planning phase, nearly 400 m3 of concrete was saved by optimizing the pile tender plans. Thanks to professional concrete mix design, a low-carbon concrete with 197kgCO2e/m3 specific carbon emissions was successfully applied. Thus, the carbon footprint of the project’s foundation works has been reduced by more than 200t CO2e compared to emissions from routine solutions.

Beyond the technical and environmental achievements, it is important to emphasize that, thanks to exemplary on-site cooperation, efficient work processes were established under proper occupational safety conditions, enabling the fulfillment of client expectations before the scheduled deadline.

At HBM, while serving clients in the national housing construction market, our team is committed to deliver economical and sustainable civil engineering solutions that meet European standards.
